2024-2025 School Photos
School photos will be taken the week of October 8, 9, 10 at Homeschool Plus, with make-up options in Virginia Beach the beginning of November and beginning of March.
Please find the photo sheet in your family folder, in the bin at the front counter, or email or text to receive this photo sheet sent digitally to print. Every child (and teacher) needs a photo sheet prior to having your photo taken.
Academy students will have school photos taken between 12:00-1:00 Oct 8 (K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd), Oct 9 (PreK), and Oct 10 (4th, 5th, 6th, 7/8th). Students in Tues Little Scientists will have photos taken during class Tues Oct 8. Students in Theatre classes, Adventures, Media, and Biology will have school photos taken during class Wed Oct 9. Students in Spanish & Cultures will have school photos taken during class Thurs Oct 10. If your child is in multiple classes listed above, they can choose which ONE time they have their photo taken. If your child is not in any of these classes, or you are a non-Academy teacher, please sign up for a time to have your photo taken by clicking the date of your choice below.

Your child can leave class briefly to have their photo taken, or sign up for a time outside class time. An adult will help young children leave/return to class. Please email HomeschoolPlusYearbook@gmail.com or text 319-504-1460 if your child will be stepping out of class for their photo, or if you prefer to have their photo taken on a non-class day in Virginia Beach. School photos will take less than 5 minutes.
• Photos are taken at this time of day because over many years experience taking thousands of school portraits, Danelle has found the best, natural smiles are captured when kids have gotten into their day with friends and are relaxed. The end result for parents' keepsake photos is significantly better with afternoon photos. Danelle will help tidy hair and ensure no spills show. If you prefer a non-class time, you're welcome to choose a different day or time for a photo.
School photos are $5 to have taken (sitting/editing/yearbook inclusion). Portraits will be used in the yearbook, unless you opt out. You have the option to purchase prints or digital portraits for your use on the photo sheet. All individuals being photographed need one of these sheets for name spelling as you would like names to appear in the yearbook, and parent/adult contact information. Return photo sheets with your child on the day of their picture, or to Danelle Frisbie's teacher folder. Your portrait order, or the $5 alone, can be prepaid per directions at the bottom of the sheet (Venmo, Zelle, CashApp, ApplePay, check/cash, etc.) or sent in an envelope with your form. Please fill out this sheet before your photo day.
If you prefer that your child take their school photo by stepping out of any class, or on a non-school day, email HomeschoolPlusYearbook@gmail.com or text 319-504-1460 before their photo day. An adult will help young children leave their class briefly for their photo, and return.

• Solid and deep colors for a shirt look best for these portraits (black, blue, gold, silver, deep pink, deep purple, deep green, etc.). Avoid "busy" prints, stripes, beige, white, and images/graphics/words. Only waist up is visible in yearbook photos. If you wear flip flops and shorts, or have messy hands and feet - no one will know! If you prefer that your child have a full-length photo taken for a second pose, with a sibling, instrument, pet, etc., please check this option on their photo sheet.
• Small items like a food spill, pimples, etc. will be edited out of your final photo before going to print. If you have any area of concern, please make note of this on your photo sheet or share with Danelle, as she is skilled at editing photos for special requests.
• If none of the time slots work for your child, or you prefer a non-school day for photos, there are additional options in Virginia Beach. Email HomeschoolPlusYearbook@gmail.com or text 319-504-1460 for another day/time.
• Digital photos are sent via email as high resolution files with a print release for you to use in any way you wish. Prints are delivered the second week of December, unless you request by email to have them earlier.
